XL to expand 1,800 MHz 4G network starting November

Wednesday 16 September 2015 | 12:49 CET | News
Indonesian mobile operator XL Axiata plans to gradually expand its 1,800 MHz 4G/LTE mobile network service starting from November, pending the government's efforts to shift radio frequencies to accommodate the network, The Jakarta Post reports, citing XL mobile data service general manager Roy Wisnu Wibowo. The operator intends to deploy its 1,800 MHz service in several major cities in Indonesia as the first step towards nationwide deployment of 4G LTE services. XL established its first 1,800 MHz 4G LTE service in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara earlier in July.
