Xtera says NO-UK cable marine programme starts after speedy permit receipts

The NO-UK Com consortium building a fibre cable between Norway and the UK has announced that the marine programme for the cable system has commenced, with loading completed in Nordenheim in Germany. Installation operations were due to begin on 07 June following the acquisition of all the necessary permits in both countries in May. Xtera chief partners and solutions officer Joerg Schwartz said the swift acquisition of permits enables the marine programme to take place in the optimal weather window for the North Sea.
