Yoigo gains customers at expense of Movistar, Vodafone

Spain's two leading operators, Movistar (Telefonica) and Vodafone, shed 63,600 and 34,400 mobile customers respectively in April, according to the monthly survey of ported lines published by Economiza. Vodafone's monthly net loss was partly offset by the results of its new low-cost MVNO brand, Lowi, which attracted around 7,400 new customers in April. Above all, the figures signalled a turnaround in the fortunes of Yoigo, which was the only top four mobile operator with a positive balance in portability, attracting 10,400 new customers following the 5,200 net gains reported in March.
