YouTube taking more consumer video time - Ericsson study

Consumer watch an average six hours a week of streamed TV, films and video programmes, according to the Ericsson ConsumerLab's annual TV & Media report. This is double the amount in 2011. With recorded and downloaded content added to the equation, a total 35 percent of all TV and video viewing is spent watching on-demand content. The study also found that one in ten consumers watch more than three hours a day of YouTube, underlining the increasing importance of user-generated content platforms. This has led to educational and instructional videos accounting for an average 73 minutes of video
