Yu seeks SIM card registration deadline extension

Kenyan operator Yu has called on the Communication Commission of Kenya (CCK) to extend the SIM card registration deadline, amid fears that it will dent its revenues. In a statement, the operator said it was keen to deactivate unregistered SIMs but said that consumer awareness is not adequate. The government issued a 31 December 2012 deadline for all mobile subscribers to register their SIM cards or be switched off.
