Zambian watchdog compels Whatsapp administrators to register groups or face arrest

Zambia has directed all WhatsApp group administrators in Zambia to register their groups and set up codes of ethics, or risk being arrested if there is a breach, ZNBC reported. The new rule was announced by Zambia Information and Communications Technology (ZICTA) director-general Mofyta Chisala, in a move perceived by many as an effort by the Zambian government to control free speech.
