Zen Internet joins BT G.fast , FoD trials

Monday 17 August 2015 | 10:53 CET | News
UK ISP Zen Internet is the first of eight ISPs to confirm its participation in BT Openreach's large-scale customer trial of 500 Mbps capable G.fast and 1 Gbps FttP-on-Demand (FoD) technology starting in Huntingdon in August, reports ISP Review. Openreach aims to begin its 10-year deployment of G-fast technology in 2016 or 2017. It is intended to bring up to 500 Mbps speeds to "most homes" throughout the UK. Top speeds may first be capped at 300 Mbps or less during a trial period, matching the company's FttP service. Two other trials have been announced in Newscastle and Swansea.
