Ziggo launches LTE service with 2.6GHz licence

Dutch cable operator Ziggo has launched LTE services for business customers, using its spectrum in the 2.6GHz band. The service is available initially for customers with an Internet Plus cable broadband subscription, in the cities Oss, Breda and Zwolle. Ziggo claims speeds of 100/40Mbps over the mobile broadband service. Customers need to buy their own equipment in order to use the service. A Ziggo spokesman said the network was activated on 01 May, and the operator deployed its own masts in the three cities. The coverage is around three times that required by its licence.
