Ziggo Q1 sales fall 3.3%, loses 44,000 customers

Dutch cable operator Ziggo reported first-quarter sales down 3.3 percent year-on-year to EUR 607 million, hurt by customer losses and pressure on  ARPU. Operating cash flow rose 2.7 percent to EUR 334 million, on a drop in costs after higher spending last year following the merger with UPC. Ziggo invested EUR 127 million in the quarter, equal to 21 percent of revenue, and free cash flow reached EUR 207 million. The number of customers fell by 43,900 to 4.07 million, and revenue-generating units were down by 39,900 to 9.69 million. The customer numbers exclude mobile, which added 10,200
