Ziggo sales up 3.4% in Q2, grows in broadband

Dutch cable operator Ziggo reported second-quarter sales up 3.4 percent year-on-year to EUR 405.1 million. Adjusted EBITDA rose 2.2 percent to EUR 225.8 million, while the net result was a loss of EUR 29.5 million, hurt by a writedown of EUR 125.5 million on financial instruments and EUR 30 million on customer value. That compares to a profit of EUR 88.9 million a year ago. Ziggo gained 25,000 customers from broadband in the quarter, for total 1.97 million, while the TV customer base fell by 34,000. A total 1.56 million customers, or 57.5 percent of the total used triple-play services. It
