Zimbabwe Q4 mobile money transactions rise 16.3%

The value of transactions on mobile money platforms in Zimbabwe increased by 16.3 percent to USD 533 million in the fourth quarter ending 31 December 2015 from USD 458 million in the previous quarter, according to the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (Potraz) The number of mobile money subscribers rose by 9.9 percent to 7.3 million subscriptions from 6.7 million in the previous quarter. The number of agents expanded by 11.7 percent to 33,259 from 29,775.
