Zimbabwean active mobile phone subscriptions rise 4% in Q2, fixed lines down nearly 2% from Q1

The number of active mobile telephone subscriptions increased by 3.9 percent to 13.48 million in the second quarter from the first, said the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ). The mobile penetration rate increased by 3.5 percent to 91.3 percent from 87.8 percent in Q1. The number of active fixed telephone lines decreased by 1.7 percent to 245,322 from 249 486 recorded in Q1 and fixed tele-density remained at 1.7 percent.
