Zimbabwean govt blocks Safaricom, MTN from entry to market

The Zimbabwean government is blocking South African operator MTN and Kenya's Safaricom from operating in the country, in order to shield local firms, Bulawayo 24/7 reported. According to ICT minister Supa Mandiwanzira, MTN and Safaricom have "been knocking", seeking licences.The country has three mobile networks, Econet, NetOne and Telecel, and foreign firms have been seeking to operate locally without success.
