Zimbabwean operators start raising prices after Potraz directive on currency conversion

The Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ) gave approval for mobile operators to base their pricing on the interbank rate, Technomag reported. Potraz told operators that dual pricing should entail converting Zimbabwean dollar tariffs to US dollar-denominated tariffs at an exchange rate of USD 1 to ZWD 25. The approval prompted telecom companies to raise their prices, Technomag said.
