ZTE, NetCologne partner on G.fast-based GPON grids

Equipment and services provider ZTE Deutschland and regional network provider NetCologne have formed a strategic partnership to develop GPON and G.fast projects in Germany. Under the agreement, ZTE will support NetCologne in upgrading its existing VDSL-FTTB network to a GPON based on G.fast. GPON will be used as uplink technology while G.fast will be used to extend the existing FTTB infrastructure and integrate with the existing NetCologne network.
