ZTE, TeliaSonera to cooperate on IoT

ZTE entered into a strategic agreement with TeliaSonera to jointly expand into the IoT market. The two parties will cooperate on IoT areas, beginning with telematics. ZTEWelink, a subsidiary of ZTE dedicated to the development of wireless communication modules, telematics terminals and products, will undertake a major part of the telematics R&D process. The combination of ZTE's 4G/LTE technology and Telia Sense's service will enable users to have full control of their car and a growing ecosystem of features, the two companies said. Since 2009, ZTE invested heavily in IoT, and proposed a M-ICT
