Dutch digital TV households totalled almost 2 million at the end of 2006. In terms of net additions, UPC was the fastest growing digital television provider in 2006, followed by satellite television. IPTV, lead by Tele2, still plays only a marginal role in digital television, with little news from KPN's recently launched IPTV service Mine. As a result, digital cable TV has increased its dominant position on the Dutch market, and cable operators such as UPC and Multikabel have taken the opportunity to introduce extra fees for digital services. Meanwhile, KPN's digital terrestrial television subsidiary Digitenne is expanding its nationwide services, UPC and Casema are launching VoD services in Netherlands and Canal Digitaal has added the Tele2 football package.
