MTN South Africa targets up to ZAR 6 bln in cost savings by 2029

MTN South Africa aims to achieve between ZAR 4 billion and ZAR 6 billion in savings by 2029 through a comprehensive structural reset, TechCentral reported, citing new CEO Ferdi Moolman at the MTN Group Capital Markets Day. This is a fundamental business restructuring rather than a routine cost-cutting exercise. Moolman explained that South Africa lacks the market depth seen in faster-growing regions such as Nigeria, and its main purpose is to secure cash upstreaming and anchor group dividends.
