Orange Poland and APG, on behalf of the pension fund ABP, have agreed the acquisition of Polish wholesale operator Nexera. The acquisition will expand the fibre network of their existing joint venture Swiatlowod Inwestycje by around 800,000 homes passed. The enterprise value of the transaction is PLN 1.5 billion, including around PLN 1 billion in bank debt.

Finland extends 5G network security controls to base stations
Finland has approved new regulations on mobile network security, extending additional protections to 5G base stations. As a result, operators may be prohibited from using so-called high-risk suppliers for these parts of the network, in addition to existing restrictions on core network elements. The new regulation entered into force on 19 December and replaces the previous security regulation issued in May 2021, the communications agency Traficom announced.
