Kainos to create over 300 new jobs in N Ireland

Kainos, Belfast-based digital transformation and IT services group, plans to create 341 new jobs in Northern Ireland over the next three years. The new jobs will support an expansion of its AI capabilities in response to rising demand from customers. Most of the new roles will be located in Belfast, with 32 based at the company's Derry/Londonderry office. The the Northern Ireland government is supporting the expansion with GBP 1.5 million of funding through Invest NI.

In the past three years, over 2 million Brazilians in rural areas have gained access to 4G mobile internet, thanks to an initiative led by the Ministry of Communications. This expansion has reached 2,902 locations across Brazil, providing essential mobile broadband, telephony and digital services to areas previously unconnected. The Northeast region leads this expansion with 956 new connections since 2023, followed by the Southeast (749 areas), South (571), North (426) and Midwest (200).

Excelerate Technology, UK-based global communications/connectivity solutions provider, has won a contract from Clare County Fire and Rescue Service in Ireland to upgrade its Incident Command Unit (ICU) into a modern mobile command platform. Starting 30 June, One TV subscribers who currently enjoy ad-free access to RTL+ Premium as part of their package will begin being shown commercials. This change follows a partnership formed when One Hungary secured exclusive rights to distribute RTL+ content, including Champions League broadcasts, by integrating the streaming service into its TV plans. Previously, subscribers received the ad-free RTL+ Premium, but a recent decision will shift them to the ad-supported (AVOD) version.
