Apple has claimed requirements arising from the European Union's Digital Markets Act (DMA) will delay the launch of Siri AI on iPhone and iPad devices in the region. Apple has announced new AI frameworks and developer tools designed to expand access to its Apple Intelligence platform, alongside new parental controls and child safety features across iPhone, iPad and Mac. Brazil mobile market adds 1 mln lines in April

Brazil reached 274.5 million mobile lines in April, up from 273.5 million the previous month, according to figures published by Anatel. It said 4G technology accounted for 64.6 percent of all lines, ahead of 5G (23.5%), 2G (6.7%) and 3G (5.2%). Vivo holds the largest market share at 38.0 percent, followed by Claro (33.3%) and TIM Brasil (22.5%).

Bosnia and Herzegovina operator BH Telecom has reduced its prices for the Galaxy S25 smartphone series. Users can save up to BAM 168.80 for the Galaxy S25, up to BAM 161.65 for the Galaxy S25 FE, up to BAM 263.05 for the Galaxy S25 Ultra and up to BAM 249.70 for the Galaxy S25 Edge. In addition, for users of the Extra Premium package, the Galaxy S25 series is available from BAM 14.82 per month.

Portuguese neutral network operator DSTelecom, operating in Chamusca since 2015, has upgraded its fibre optic network to cover over 4,700 homes in Chamusca, Carregueira, Pinheiro Grande and Ulme. MS3 Networks ends 2025 with 22,184 live fibre connections

MS3 Networks, Hull, UK-based wholesale full-fibre network operator, saw its network pass a total of 238,806 premises as of end-2025, up from 228,522 a year earlier; of which 212,561 premises were ready for service (RFS), compared to 195,759 at end-2024. The data was included in accounts filed with companies house by holding company Humber Topco. The number of wholesale partners signed up to sell full-fibre broadband services on the MS3 network reached over 30.

WightFibre, Isle of Wight-based fibre network operator, has reported revenue of GBP 9.16 million for the 12 months to 30 September 2025, up 27 percent from GBP 7.20 million a year earlier. Accounts filed with Companies House show losses after taxation of GBP 19.32 million, compared to losses of GBP 18.95 million at end-September 2024; and net liabilities of GBP 75.97 million, up from GBP 56.65 million a year earlier.

AquaRD wins contract from R&D Institute of Meteorology and Water Management

Warsaw-based company AquaRD has won a contract to provide GPRS data transmission services for the Polish R&D Institute of Meteorology and Water Management, after tendering the only bid. It will provide services for the institute's telemetry system. The deal is worth PLN 1.44 million and the contract duration is two years. AquaRD was already a previous supplier to the institute.

Russian mobile and electronics retail chain M.Video plans to open at least 5,000 additional delivery points for goods purchased from its online shop by the end of this year. Ukrainian operator Lifecell has introduced Passkey technology for authorisation when logging on to its resources without passwords. Customers can use the system when signing on to the Personal Office section of Lifecell's web portal, its services management mobile application My Lifecell, its mobile payment service, its online shop and other products. Authorisation is possible using Face ID, Face Unlock, Touch ID, fingerprint or PIN.

Yandex's search engine market share drops 62% in Azerbaijan in May

Google dominated Azerbaijan's search engine market across all platforms (computers, mobile devices, and tablets) with a 94.19 percent share in May, Report informs, citing Statcounter. This marks an increase of 9.03 percentage points compared to April and 13.56 points year-on-year. Yandex was in second place and saw its market share fall by 7.6 percentage points monthly and 12.58 points annually, settling at 4.61 percent, a 62 percent decline compared wih April.
