E& UAE and TM Forum have published a whitepaper titled 'Building a Future-Ready Ecosystem: E& UAE's Adoption of TM Forum Open Digital Architecture' to highlight the operator's achievement of Running on ODA (RoODA) status. This formally recognises that ODA is deployed and operating in live production environments. The paper sets out the transformation of e& UAE's technology from legacy monolithic systems into a modular, cloud-native, API-first digital platform.

Samsung has announced the addition of two new channels to its Smart TV streaming service Samsung TV Plus in Spain. Senegal's regulator issues formal warning on illegal Wi-Fi services

Telecom authority ARTP is warning people who operate illegal Wi‑Fi services in Senegal to stop their activities or face sanctions. Commonly called 'community Wi-Fi', this type of service has been found on sale in several parts of the country, often powered by Starlink antennas. The regulator reiterated that operating such services without the appropriate authorisation is punishable by law with a prison term and a fine.

Brazil's WDC Networks closed 2025 with BRL 871.8 million in net revenue, marking a 12.9 percent increase from the previous year. This growth was primarily fueled by its digital infrastructure segments, with significant contributions from data centres, cybersecurity, and B2B solutions for internet providers. The company also boasted a healthy cash position of BRL 172 million, up 68.6 percent, as it reduced exposure to capital-intensive operations.

The Tiscali Mobile MVNO of Sardinia-based operator Tessellis (formerly Gruppo Tiscali) has unveiled a new convergent plan with gigabit fibre and 350GB of data at 5G speeds for under EUR 34 a month. The offer, dubbed Casa Home Safe + Mobile 350 Pro 5G, comes with fibre broadband at speeds of up to 2.5 Gbps where available, unlimited calls, plus a mobile line with the 350GB data bundle and 100 SMS for EUR 33.80 a month.

USTelecom - The Broadband Association, the lobby group for telecom operators in the US, has added two new members to its board of directors. They are John Harrobin, President of Kinetic at Uniti Group, and Pamela Sherwood, the VP for Regulatory Law & Government Programs and deputy general counsel at Brightspeed. Both are regional wireline operators active in the transition to fibre networks.

E-commerce in the Netherlands was down by 1 percent in 2025 to EUR 35.7 billion, with the number of transactions was little changed at 347 million, according to the industry group Thuiswinkel.org. Orange Money Botswana signs up Taxi Association to DuelaEasy for fare payments

Orange Money Botswana has entered a nationwide partnership with the Taxi Association, which will lead to large-scale branding of taxis and kombis (passenger vans). It is based on the DuelaEasy digital payment service, which lets customers pay directly from their Orange Money accounts using their mobile phones. Netherlands sees small drop in digging accidents in 2025 but problems persist

The number of underground digging accidents in the Netherlands fell slightly in 2025 but remains a common problem, with an average 130 incidents per day. According to an annual report from the digital infrastructure agency, the total number of instances of damage during excavation works reached 47,383, down slightly from around 50,000 in 2024. The cost of repairs for the incidents reached EUR 48 million, less than the EUR 57.6 million in damages the previous year.

OpenAI is lowering the price of its ChatGPT Business monthly subscription, to USD 20 per seat from USD 25 previously. This comes with a change to charging for its Codex coding tool. The ChatGPT Business subscription has a cap on the amount of Codex use, but customers can get expanded access to the AI coding tool by paying per token. OpenAI said this should make it easier to use Codex on a project basis, while the ChatGPT Business plan becomes more attractive in price.

The Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) has reported an improvement in mobile operator Safaricom's network quality, ranking it as the top mobile network operator for the 2024-2025 financial year.
