Thai operator True has launched 5G services at Maya Bay in the Phi Phi Islands, Krabi Province. Designed to support digital nomads and travelers, the network also enhances visitor safety through the integration of a Cell Broadcast Service (CBS) for emergency alerts.

Centratama deploys multi operator indoor 5G network at Mall of Indonesia

Centratama, a subsidiary of EdgePoint Infrastructure, has partnered with Agung Sedayu Realestat Indonesia (ASRI) to install a multi-operator active Distributed Antenna System (DAS) at the Mall of Indonesia (MOI) in Jakarta. The new 5G infrastructure is desinged to provide high-speed indoor coverage for shoppers and staff, as well as including real-time inventory tracking, omni-channel systems, and contactless payments for tenants.

Digi has announced that its Romanian mobile business ended 2025 with 7.9 million revenue-generating units (RGUs), which represents an increase of 20 percent year-on-year. Digi's fixed internet connections climbed 6 percent year-on-year in the fourth quarter of 2025, reaching 5.1 million RGUs.

Operational since January 2026, this builds on the company's multi-tiered security protocols, adding a new layer of protection to provide safe connectivity for customers, Maxis said.

Hong Kong nears 33 mln mobile lines in October 2025

Hong Kong passed 32.69 million mobile lines in October 2025, an increase of around 335,674 lines from the previous month, according to the latest figures from the Office of the Communications Authority (OFCA). Most of the growth was in the prepaid market, which counted 22 million SIMs in October. 4G was still the dominant technology, with 23 million users, while the 5G base increased by 50,560 users to 9.61 million.

SmarTone's half-year profit jumps 8%, revenue up 2%

Hong Kong operator SmarTone Telecommunications posted profit of HKD 278 million for its first half of financial year 2025/26, which represents an increase of 8 percent year-on-year. Revenues increased by 2 percent year-on-year to HKD 3.56 billion.

Telia Lithuania joins consortium on satellite IoT freight monitoring system

Telia Lithuania has signed a consortium agreement with Kaunas University of Technology and Lithuanian company Ruptela to cooperate on developing a monitoring system for large cargo and transport vehicles. The EU-funded project will be based on 5G satellite NB-IoT connections from Ruptela SAT-GL, available worldlwide, while Telia Lithuania will act as a provider of 5G and security services. The solution Ruptela SAT-GL will also be able to work over terrestrial LTE CAT-M and NB IoT networks.

Telefonica Germany records lower revenues, EBITDA in Q4 after 1&1 migration

Telefonica Germany saw a fall in revenues and EBITDA during 2025 due to fewer mobile lines at the operator. Revenues also declined by 4 percent year-on-year in the fourth quarter of 2025, due to temporary headwinds from the wholesale business after losing its contract with 1&1. The company said this effect will disappear in the course of 2026. Revenues generated through the mobile business fell by 5.3 percent to EUR 1.86 billion in Q4, while handset revenues increased by 4.6 percent year-in-year to EUR 536

Hurricane Electric, global IPv6-native internet backbone network, has set up two new PoPs at two Telehouse facilities in Toronto - located at 151 and 250 Front Street West. The 151 Front Street campus has access to the Toronto Internet Exchange and high-speed connections to the financial district. Airgain wins 5G home connectivity contract from N American MNO

Airgain, wireless connectivity solutions provider, has won a multi-million dollar, multi-year embedded antenna design contract from a Tier 1 mobile network operator in North America for a 5G home connectivity platform under development. The contract includes Airgain antenna systems for a 5G FWA router and accompanying in-home Wi-Fi extender. Shipment of pre-production units will commence in Q1, followed by mass production later in 2026.

BusinessCom is organising on 19 March an 'Odido Kick Off Event' at the FC Utrecht stadium. This follows its appointment as an official distributor of Odido Business products since the end of 2025. Life adds 112 LTE base stations in January

Belarusian operator Life said that it added 112 LTE base stations to its network in January. Work was carried out in more than 40 municipalities across the country, and mobile internet speed increased in 70 sites, including Slutsk, Smorgon and Kobrin. New base stations work on 1,800 MHz, 2,600 MHz and 800 MHz bands.

Tele2 Lithuania supports school in Zaporizhzhia

Tele2 Lithuania has supported a school in the city of Zaporizhzhia in Ukraine. The operator has donated 12 laptops, 20 tablets and five TV sets to the school. In addition, Tele2 Lithuania has donated 40,000 SIMs to Ukrainian refugees since the beginning of the war with Russia.

Ukrainian national operator Ukrtelecom said that it has joined the European telecom industry group Community for Telecommunications Professionals (ETIS). The ETIS community is composed of 32 operators and 23 supporting parties (suppliers), representing the telecommunications industry in 22 European countries.

Charter promises USD 1,000 annual savings to new FMC subscribers

Charter Communications is promising new customers savings of USD 1,000 in their first year if they switch at least two mobile lines to the cable operator alongside home broadband. They need to upload their previous mobile bills from AT&T, T-Mobile or Verizon to their Charter account, and if they have not saved USD 1,000 with Charter's cheaper prices in the first 12 months, then the company will refund the difference, up to USD 1,000.

UK broadcaster ITV has announced an extension of a partnership with Disney, following the launch of a UK content-sharing agreement in summer 2025. Aida Cruises enables WBA OpenRoaming across global fleet

Cisco Services has deployed WBA OpenRoaming onboard the whole fleet of Aida Cruises, providing staff and passengers with seamless Wi-Fi connectivity as they move around ships. The German company carries 1.5 million passengers worldwide a year, and becomes the first cruise brand to deploy OpenRoaming at sea. Aida Cruises uses the Cisco Wireless product range to enable OpenRoaming across 11 ships. This includes Cisco Wireless 9100 Series access points and 9800 Series controllers.

Gigaclear lenders take control of business in 2026

UK rural fibre altnet Gigaclear has confirmed that its lenders will be taking control of the company in 2026 through an agreed consensual lender-led transaction. This deal involves a significant deleveraging and reduces the debt service requirement. The arrangement comes after Gigaclear secured a GBP 80 million Super Senior Facility, with an additional GBP 20 million of uncommitted funding available under this facility in December 2025. This allows Gigaclear to be fully funded in the first quarter of 2027,

MTS deploys new base station in Antarctica

Russian operator MTS has deployed its new base station at Russian polar station Progress in Antarctica. The operator said it also launched a 13-km radio-relay line from the base station to a local port. The GSM-based voice connection and mobile internet services are now available in the port area. The network also covers a local airfield.

Streamwide posts 25 percent increase in FY revenue

France-based company Streamwide reported a 25 percent annual rise in revenues for the whole of 2025 to EUR 26.29 million (+24% in H1). Growth was entirely driven by 'Platforms' activities (+36%), including the 'Team On Mission' and 'Team On The Run' software for mission- and business-critical communication. Revenues from legacy services to telecom operators were broadly stable year-on-year at EUR 6.34 million, representing 24 percent of the yearly total.
