Rostelecom expands LTE coverage in Samara, Nizhny Novgorod regions

Russian national operator Rostelecom said it launched 13 LTE base stations in villages in the Samara region in 2025. More than 30 kilometres of fibre-optic lines were deployed as backhaul, with the work supported by the federal programme on elimination of the digital divide. Swedish telecoms regulator PTS said it is imposing penalties on three operators for breaching the rules on contract notice periods.
