Rostelecom expands LTE coverage in Samara, Nizhny Novgorod regions

Russian national operator Rostelecom said it launched 13 LTE base stations in villages in the Samara region in 2025. More than 30 kilometres of fibre-optic lines were deployed as backhaul, with the work supported by the federal programme on elimination of the digital divide. Around 35,000 residents have been covered with LTE services under the programme in 143 villages in the region within four years.

One in five Norwegians has been scammed at least once in their lifetime, according to national communications regulator Nkom. Swedish telecoms regulator PTS said it is imposing penalties on three operators for breaching the rules on contract notice periods. IT Partner i Vaest must pay SEK 700,000, Leijon Telekom SEK 100,000 and Telson Telekom SEK 90,000. Under the Electronic Communications Act (LEK), customers must be able to terminate their contract after a maximum of one month's notice once they have gone beyond the end of their tie-in period.
