Zen Internet reports 52% increase in monthly Fibre Hub demand

UK ISP Zen Internet has seen a 52 percent increase in gross monthly demand through The Fibre Hub altnet aggregation platform in the last 12 months. The growth reflects rising adoption of full-fibre services by Zen partners. Zen has Fibre Hub partnerships with CityFibre, Freedom Fibre, Trooli, ITS Technology and MS3 Networks. The Fibre Hub and partner programme will be extended further over the coming year.

Crown Castle completes sale of fibre, small cell businesses

Crown Castle has completed the sale of its Fibre Solutions business to Zayo and Small Cell business to Arium Networks for USD 8.5 billion. Net proceeds from the sale are around USD 8.4 billion, with Crown Castle using some of this to repurchase USD 1 billion of shares and reduce outstanding debt by over USD 7 billion. The sale allows Crown Castle to focus on its wireless tower business.

Telus has launched the 21st annual 'Telus Days of Giving' campaign to mobilise over 100,000 volunteers in more than 30 countries worldwide. This will see corporate volunteers come together in May to work in their local communities. In 2025, 90,000 volunteers contributed 1.5 million hours in 34 countries. Telus team members have volunteered 2.5 million days and contributed CAD 1.85 billion since 2000.

Dazn has secured rights to more than 500 matches per season of Uefa men's club competitions for the 2027–2031 cycle in Portugal. In this new agreement, Dazn will show over 80 percent of the Champions League, once again broadcasting Portuguese clubs in Europe's premier competition. It has also secured exclusive rights to the Uefa Europa League and Uefa Conference League, guaranteeing coverage of all 342 matches per season, including every Portuguese team involved.

Shentel revenue grows 4.8% to USD 92.2 million in Q1

US regional telecoms operator Shentel has reported total revenue of USD 92.2 million for Q1 2026, up 4.8 percent from a year earlier; with Glo Fiber Expansion Markets revenue up 34.6 percent to USD 24.8 million. The net loss from operations increased to USD 15.8 million, from USD 9.1 million a year earlier; with adjusted EBITDA up 15 percent to USD 31.7 million.

Polish wholesale operator Polski Swiatlowod Otwarty (PSO) has acquired the company Elsat from the Vectra Group. Elsat owns the fibre-optic infrastructure covering around 2.3 million households across the country. The takeover is based on an agreement concluded in 2025, after fulfilling all the conditions and receiving clearance from the competition watchdog.

FuboTV is developing a user-configured Multiview feature for the Fubo streaming TV service on select LG TV models - including the 2024, 2025 and newer 4K/8K models. It will become the first virtual MVPD to launch Multiview with LG before the start of the 2026 American football season. The Multiview feature will allow Fubo customers to stream up to four live channels at the same time. Telenet maintains outlook as broadband numbers improve in Q1

Belgian operator Telenet reported a positive first quarter, driven by improving growth in the broadband market and better margins following restructuring. While revenues were still down 0.5 percent on an organic basis to EUR 663.4 million, adjusted EBITDA after leases rose 0.9 percent to EUR 302.7 million. The operator added a net 17,000 broadband subscribers, the best performance in over 10 years, which it attributed to cross-selling to TV customers and expansion of the Base flanker brand.

Icelandic operator Nova has reported a 34 percent year-on-year decline in first quarter EBITDA but says its Q1 results support its forecast for the year, following an overhaul to cut costs and after the creation of its RAN joint venture Sendafelagid with Syn at the end of 2025.
