Amazon Web Services (AWS) has signed a new, expanded agreement with Nationwide Building Society in the UK to support the company's digital transformation and help improve the customer experience. Sky plans major expansion of Livingston office in Scotland

Sky has announced a major investment to expand its office in Livingston, Scotland. It has submitted a full planning application to expand the West Lothian site by 15 acres, increasing its total size to more than 21,000 sq mt. The new development will accommodate around 3,000 employees once completed. It will replace four current buildings at Kirkton Campus, as well as leased space on the Alba Campus. Livingston has been the home of Sky's customer service operations for over 30 years.

Verizon was named the leading US mobile network in seven national categories tracked by Ookla's RootMetrics State of the Mobile Union report for the second half of 2025. The US operator collected Ookla's RootScore award for best overall network performance and also scooped first place in the Network Reliability category. Both awards had gone to AT&T in Ookla's H1 2025 Report.

MLL Telecom has won a contract to deliver managed network services to the Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Southampton and Portsmouth (HISP) Multi Academy Trust (MAT), which covers eight schools across the Isle of Wight and the South of England. The contract is valid for an initial three years and worth around GBP 250,000, with an option to extend for an additional two years.

Polish govt splits DSA requirements into two bills to speed adoption

Poland's Ministry of Digitisation has prepared new legislation on implementation of the EU's Digital Services Act (DSA) into national law. The new e-commerce rules are grouped into two separate bills in an effort to accelerate adoption. Earlier this January, Polish president Karol Nawrocki vetoed an earlier version of the law implementing the DSA in the country, citing concerns over restrictions on free speech.

ITV extends rugby coverage with Nations Championship rights

UK broadcaster ITV has signed a new agreement with Six Nations Rugby to broadcast major rugby competitions on free-to-air TV through 2029, showing a minimum of 124 matches over the next four years. All Nations Championship matches from the first two competitions in 2026 and 2028 will be shown exclusively free-to-air on ITV and STV in the UK. This adds to ITV's coverage of the Guinness Six Nations championship.

Virgin Media O2 has made gigabit broadband services available to more than 5,000 additional homes in Strathaven for the first time, following a local multi-million pound FTTH network investment by nexfibre. Customers in the Scottish town can now sign up for services including the Gig2 full-fibre broadband service, which supports speeds of up to 2 Gbps.

Polish operators support WOSP charity campaign

Polish operator Play, controlled by Iliad, announced that it partcipates in the charity campaign WOSP this year. Funds collected will be allocated for treatment on digestive diseases for children. Play will sell its special Golden SIMs, adorned with 24-karat gold-plated elements and assigned special numbers with easy-to-remember combinations. The SIMs will be sold over the Most Generous Donors Auction under the campaign.

UPC Slovakia has lost an appeal against a fine imposed by the Slovak Trade Inspectorate (SOI), reports Hospodarske Noviny. Syn predicts higher FY earnings as Sendafelagid repays part of shareholder loan

Icelandic operator Syn has published preliminary FY figures that beat its October forecast and has said that its new infrastructure joint venture Sendafelagid has repaid a large portion of the shareholder loan that Syn and Nova provided to it to buy their 4G and 5G distribution networks. The repayment follows the receipt by Sendafelagid of long-term financing from Landsbankinn.
