UKE names new spokesperson, spectrum lead

Polish telecommunications regulator UKE appointed Agnieszka Sobucka the deputy director of the Communications Office and spokesperson. Sobucka will be responsible also for internal communication at the watchdog. She earlier worked as CMO and spokesperson at the operator Emitel. In addition, Marek Lipski has been appointed the director of the Spectrum Department at UKE. He has worked in the Institute of Communications for four years and was previously at the operator Play for 16 years.

ProSiebenSat.1 misses FY profit target

ProSiebenSat.1 did not achieve the company's target for adjusted EBITDA set for the fiscal year 2025. The company expected adjusted EBITDA of EUR 420-450 million in 2025, a target already cut in November from its previous guidance of EUR 420-470 million. Now, according to preliminary and unaudited figures, the broadcaster expects the figure to amount to around EUR 405 million, on the back of weaker TV advertising in Germany in the last quarter of the year.

Exponential-e, UK provider of connectivity and managed services provider, has signed  a contract with Birmingham City University (BCU) to migration its existing on-premises phone system to a cloud-based solution. The new cloud contact centre system will help boost staff productivity and improve student interactions, supporting the university's BCU Strategy 2030. The 3-year contract was secured through the Crown Commercial Services (CCS) framework, with an option for a 2-year extension.

Voys announced the takeover of Verbonden to expand its offering of VoIP services in the Netherlands. The share transfer took effect at the start of 2026, after the companies already worked together for several years. Verbonden is a white-label partner providing VoIP services to Voys customers under its own brand. Customers should see no change in service from the takeover.

Wom connects Punta Dungeness to 5G network

Chilean operator Wom has announced the installation of a telecommunications antenna in Punta Dungeness, a headland at the eastern entrance of the Strait of Magellan, as part of its national 5G rollout. The new site is part of the operator's project to expand service coverage through the connection of 366 previously unserved or underserved localities across the country.
