Acer has announced two new smartphones launching in Europe next month. The dual-Sim Liquid E1 Duo and Z2 Duo are Android 4.1 devices targeted at first-time and entry-level smartphone users. They will sell for respectively less than EUR 200 and less than EUR 100. The Liquid E1 is aimed at multimedia users, with a 4.5-inch qHD screen, dual-core processor and two speakers with DTS sound. The feature Float Caller alerts users to incoming calls and messages without interrupting the application in use. The Liquid Z2 Duo comes with a 1GHz processor and 3 megapixel camera as well as a simple user interface with large icons to help first-time users access the phone's functions. The Acer Cloud storage service will be offered with both phones. The phones will launch first in France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Ukraine in March and then reach the UK, Russia and Italy, though retailers and mobile operators.
