Aircel launches 4G services in India
Indian mobile operator Aircel has launched 4G services in Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar and Odisha, The Economic Times reports, citing Aircel CMO Anupam Vasudev. Aircel thus becomes the second operator to launch 4G services on the local market, following Bharti Airtel's 4G launch earlier this year. Aircel has pan-India spectrum across all 22 circles. Aircel holds 20 MHz of spectrum in the 4G LTE 2300 MHz band across eight circles, including Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, Assam and North East and Jammu and Kashmir.

Indian operator Reliance Jio Infocomm has completed the installation of around 32,000 base stations across the country, and is on track to launch its 4G services offering by March 2015, according to Credit Suisse. Aircel expands 4G LTE to Tamil Nadu, Jammu, Kashmir

Indian mobile operator Aircel has expanded its 4G LTE services to Tamil Nadu, Jammu, Kashmir. Aircel now provides 2G, 3G and 4G in these areas. Back in July, Aircel launched 4G services in Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar and Odisha. Aircel has pan-India spectrum across all 22 circles. Aircel holds 20 MHz of spectrum in the 4G LTE 2300 MHz band across eight circles, including Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, Assam and North East and Jammu and Kashmir.

Aircel expands 3G service to Itanagar, Naharlagun

Indian mobile operator Aircel has launched its 3G services in the cities of Itanagar and Naharlagun, Times of India reports. To support its 3G service launch in these areas, Aircel has introduced an offer dubbed '3G Good Morning'. Customers who take up the operator's offering will receive unlimited data traffic. 3G tariff plans are available for a starting price of INR 8. Aircel is also offering a 3G dongle with 4GB for data traffic for INR 1,495.

Vodafone India sees 3G adoption jump 230% in rural areas

Vodafone reports that smaller and rural markets have a 230 percent growth in 3G adoption by end-users, Vodafone COO Sunil Sood said in an interview with Times of India. Most of Vodafone's user base in UP(east) are using 2G data services on a trial basis and gradually decide to shift to 3G for increased speed. "In UP(E) the year-on-year growth rate of data consumption is 93 percent whereas nationally it is around 70 percent. Airtel expands 4G coverage to four cities in Punjab region

Indian mobile telephony operator Bharti Airtel has expanded its 4G services coverage in the Punjab circle. The Airtel 4G services are now also available in the cities of Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Phagwara and Kapurthala, The Economic Times reports. Airtel's 4G customers in the four cities can use the high-speed internet services through dongles and Wi-Fi CPEs on iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C smartphones. The services can also be used on Xolo LT 900 and LG G2 (model D802T).

Bharti Airtel to soon launch LTE in Gurgaon - report

Indian mobile telephony operator Bharti Airtel has completed the deployment of its LTE network in the city of Gurgaon. The operator will soon commercially 4G LTE services in Gurgaon, The Economic Times reports, citing an unnamed person familiar with the development project. Bharti Airtel's heterogeneous network (hetnet) comprises macro cell sites, small cells, pico cells and indoor and outdoor Wi-Fi points, the source added.

Airtel to expand 4G LTE service to Andhra, Telangana states

Indian mobile telephony operator Bharti Airtel plans to expand its 4G LTE services to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana by the end in the next 6 to 8 months, The Economic Times reports. By the end of this financial year, Airtel aims to offer 4G LTE services in both states. According to the same source, Airtel will then expand its 4G LTE offering to the Hyderabad, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam regions. Airtel currently offers 4G services in Mumbai, Punjab, Pune, Bangalore and Kolkata.

Reliance Jio to launch 4G in 2015

Indian communications provider Reliance Jio Infocomm expects to launch its 4G services in phases during 2015, The Economic Times reports. The telco expects to launch field trials of this technology from August 2014 until the first months of next year. In an initial phase, Reliance Jio's 4G network will cover 5,000 towns and cities and 215,000 villages.
