Antenna Hungaria to deploy 20 new DVB-T transmitters

Antenna Hungaria is continuing to develop its digital terrestrial television network by further launching 20 DVB-T sites in the coming weeks. Three new high-power sites have already started the test transmission in the past weeks. Besides these main sites, 17 additional sites will be launched until the end of the year, taking the number of DVB-T sites to 50. According to the latest sales figures, DVB-T grew most dynamically in Hungary during the first nine months and MinDig TV Extra achieved the highest growth rate among the wireless digital television services. The free-to-air service MinDig TV is used by 300,000 households, while the MinDig TV Extra service has more than 42,000 subscribers. AH is fully prepared for the last stage of the digital switchover process. Terrestrial digital broadcast coverage in Hungary has reached 97 percent of the population, writes local newspaper MTI – Econews citing CEO of Antenna Hungaria Jean Francois Fenech who is in charge of the rollout. Fenech was speaking during a press coneference held on 21 November.
