Bharti Airtel said it expects revenues from its African operations to touch USD 5 billion by May 2013. Bharti Airtel CEO (International) and joint MD Manoj Kohli told PTI that the company is extremely satisfied with its acquisition of Zain Telecom's African business. He added the company is on track to achieving USD 5 billion revenue and USD 2 billion EBITDA by May 2013, as he had projected earlier. Bharti bought Zain's African operations for USD 10.70 billion last year. Kohli said MTN is very competitive but Bharti is digging its heels in and trying to get the foundation and its network customer services right. He added if the foundation is right, leadership is not far away.
