Boingo to manage Wi-Fi for ANA ten airports in Portugal

Global Wi-Fi services provider Boingo Wireless has signed an agreement with Airport Authority of Portugal ANA - Aeroportos de Portugal to offer Wi-Fi internet services for passengers at the ten airports in Portugal. The ten airports included in the agreement (two of them managed by ANA affiliate ANAM) saw more than 30 million passengers in 2011 with an increase of 6.4 percent, according to ANA. They include Portela Airport, Lisbon (LIS), Francisco Sa Carneiro Airport, Porto (OPO), Faro Airport, Faro (FAO), Madeira Airport, Funchal, Madeira-ANAM, Portugal (FNC), Joao Paulo II Airport, Ponta Delgada, Azores (PDL), Horta Airport, Horta, Azores (HOR), Porto Santo Airport, Porto Santo, Madeira-ANAM (PXO), Santa Maria Airport, Santa Maria (SMO), Santa Cruz Airport, Flores Island, Azores (FLW) and Beja Airport, Beja (BYJ). Passengers will be able to avail themselves of basic free access for up to 30 minutes per day after validating their identity with a valid credit card. Or they can access the internet at premium speeds using Boingo's Wi-Fi plans including Boingo Europe Plus, providing unlimited access at more than 200,000 hotspots throughout the Europe, Middle East and Africa region for EUR 27.95 per month, and Boingo Global, providing flat rate access anywhere in the world for EUR 49 per month. Hourly and day passes will also be available for purchase. The ANA Wi-Fi network will be available to Boingo's roaming and platform service partners, including Korea Telecom, LGU+, Orange France, NTT Communications, Skype, Swisscom, Telefonica, TeliaSonera and Verizon, which wholesale Wi-Fi access from Boingo and provide Wi-Fi to their customers as part of their existing services.
