BT starts tender process for new mobile services partner
BT has started looking for a partner to provide mobile services to its consumer and business customers, as well as supplying BT staff, reports the Financial Times. People close to the tender process said that the company was looking to connect customers using voice and internet services on devices in and out of the home. BT recently paid around GBP 200 million for 4G mobile spectrum. One source said that any spectrum deal would favour a deal with mobile operator O2 (formerly Cellnet), which BT divested in 2001. BT confirmed to the FT that it was looking for a new mobile partner.

EE to deliver MVNO services to BT

BT and EE have signed an MVNO agreement under which EE will provide MVNO services to BT's customers and employees. The multi-year agreement is subject to final contract. BT decided to seek a new mobile partner earlier in 2013, after previously working with Vodafone. It will carefully manage the network change to ensure a seamless transition for customers, EE said.

BT CEO eyes BT-branded 4G mobile service by spring 2014

BT is set to return to the mass mobile phone market by offering consumers access to a BT-branded 4G service. In an interview with The Telegraph, BT Group CEO Ian Livingston said it was 'highly possible' that BT-branded SIM cards would be in customers' smartphones by spring 2014. Charges for these 4G mobile services would be added to bills for their other BT services. The new mobile service would be available to existing BT customers.
