BT to transfer 600 overseas network staff to Alcatel-Lucent

BT is planning to outsource 500 international workers from its Design and Operate units to Alcatel-Lucent under a 7-year contract, reports The Register. Most of the affected workers are based overseas and work on network contracts won by BT Global Services. BT issued a statement to The Register saying the project was in the planning phase.
