C&W Jamaica revenues climb to JMD 6.31 bln

Cable & Wireless Jamaica saw its quarterly revenues increase to JMD 6.31 billion in the quarter ended 31 December 2011, from JMD 6.25 billion at end-2010. International fixed voice revenue climbed 30 percent as a result of increased inbound traffic, while enterprise and data services rose by 5 percent reflecting increased sales in the corporate market, the company said. Revenues from national fixed voice, mobile and broadband services fell 11, 2, and 10 percent, respectively, mainly as a result of reduced usage levels. Gross margin for the quarter increased to JMD 3.43 billion from JMD 2.74 billion in the year-earlier period. EBITDA improved to JMD 501 million, from a loss of JMD 254 million in the year-earlier quarter. Net loss was JMD 1.20 million compared to a loss of JMD 1.29 million at31 December 2010.
