China's telecoms revenues rise 10% in 2011

In 2011, telecommunications revenues in China reached CNY 988 billion, up 10 percent from a year earlier, Xinhua writes citing figures from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). The country ended December with 1.27 billion phone users, which includes 128 million 3G users. The mobile operators signed-up 81.37 million 3G users last year. Furthermore, the number of internet users rose to 513 million, or 38.3 percent of China's population.
