Colombia eases telecom infrastructure planning constraints

Colombia's Commission for Communications Regulation (CRC) has asked the mayors of Bogota, Cajica, Cali, Ibague, Lorica, Monteria, Planeta Rica and Popayan to review their Land Management Plans to remove barriers, prohibitions or restrictions on the deployment of infrastructure for the provision of telecommunications services. The CRC recommendations refer to installation constraints, the maximum height of towers, distances, dwell times of the infrastructure and banning the installation of new antennas.

In the coming days, recommendations will be issued for the other seventeen municipalities. These are Sincelejo, Cienaga, Corozal, Cartagena, Cucuta, Barranquilla, Sahagun, Pereira, La Estrella, Palmira y La Union, Neiva, Santa Marta, Barrancabermeja, Valledupar and Floridablanca.

Five Colombian cities told to revise mast installation rules

Colombia's Communications Regulation Commission (CRC) has invited the mayors of five municipalities of the country, three of them adjacent to Bogota, to revise their land use plans in order to remove barriers to the installation of telecommunications infrastructure. CRC aims to improve dialogue between users and operators

Colombia's Communications Regulatory Commission (CRC) has launched a project for negotiation and conciliation that seeks to strengthen the dialogue between consumers and telecommunications operators. When consumers submit a request, complaint or grievance, usually it takes up to ten days to get a response from the operator.
