Costa Rica's ICE may invest in Hondutel
Costa Rica operator ICE is interested in investing in Honduran telecommunications company Hondutel, La Tribuna reports, citing Hondutel CEO Jesus Mejia. The executive said that a delegation of ICE executives will arrive to Honduras in the coming days to analyse the possibility to sign a strategic partnership. In April, ICE announced that the firm was expecting to start selling telecoms services in Nicaragua in the coming months, through a partnership with Enatrel. At that time, ICE CEO Teofilo de la Torre said that the telco was exploring other business possibilities in Central America.

Costa Rica operator ICE may invest USD 300-400 million in Honduran telecommunications company Hondutel, El Heraldo reports, citing Honduras telecoms regulator head Ricardo Cardona. State telco Hondutel reported a net loss of HNL 134 million in the first half of the year, down compared to a loss of HNL 302.6 million in the first half of 2013. The firm also reported operating expenses of HNL 692 million in the first half of the year, compared to HNL 845 million in the year-ago period. Costa Rica's ICE to expand to Nicaragua

Costa Rica operator ICE will start in the coming months the sale of telecommunications services in Nicaragua, after a partnership was formalized with the company Enatrel. Teofilo de la Torre, ICE CEO, confirmed to Prensa Libre that the operator has everything it needs to provide internet services across the border.
