Czech regulator CTU published the seventh report on progress in the transition from analogue to digital terrestrial TV broadcasting (DVB-T) as of 30 September. According to the report, the transition is progressing on schedule. In September, the amendment of the Act on Czech TV was adopted, setting a deadline for the transition of 11 November, with the exception of two locations (Jesenik and Zlin), where the providers of the channels Nova and Prima will decide on the date of switch-off by 30 June 2012. The coverage with the first multiplex is almost 100 percent, of the second multiplex 95 percent, the third multiplex 91 percent and the fourth multiplex only 23 percent. The transition from analogue to digital broadcasting is realized in the whole territory only with the first and the second multiplex; the third and the fourth multiplex are used only for broadcasting new channels.
