Dell sells IT services arm to NTT for USD 3 billion
Dell has agreed to sell its IT services arm to NTT Data, a unit of Japanese telecom operator NTT, for USD 3.05 billion. The divestment is expected to help Dell pay for its acquisition of EMC. 

NTT said Dell's customers will have access to an expanded range of services as a result of the deal, while the Japanese company strengthens its customer base in key verticals such as healthcare and insurance and gains data centres in the US, UK and Australia. NTT Data CEO John McCain will lead integration of the acquisition.

Dell raises USD 20 bln for EMC takeover

Dell's subsidiary Denali Holding has raised USD 20 billion in debt issues to help finance its takeover of EMC. The issues include USD 3.75 billion in 3.48 percent notes due 2019, USD 4.5 billion of 4.42 percent notes due 2021, USD 3.75 billion of 5.45 percent notes due 2023, USD 4.5 billion of 6.02 percent notes due 2026, USD 1.5 billion of 8.1 percent notes due 2036 and USD 2.0 billion of 8.35 percent notes due 2046. The offering is expected to close on or around 01 June.

Dell to become Dell Technologies after EMC takeover

Dell will change its name to Dell technologies following its takeover of EMC, CEO Michael Dell announced at the EMC World event. Dell Services wins two deals worth USD 100 mln

Dell Services recently signed deals with Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI). Dell Services' Business Process-as-a-Service (BPaaS) will enable DHA to offer a full health insurance reimbursement programme designed to fit with the new Electronic Medical Record system. BCBSRI is also working with Dell Services to improve operations and implement new technologies.

Dell is nearing a deal to sell its IT services business to Japanese operator NTT for about USD 3.5 billion, Re/Code reported. NTT executives are expected to formalize their offer in a meeting with Dell CEO Michael Dell in New York on 09 March. Dell closer to completing acquisition of EMC

Dell is one condition closer to completing its acquisition of EMC. The companies announced the expiration of the waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976. The transaction is still subject to approval by EMC's shareholders, regulatory clearance in certain other jurisdictions and other customary closing conditions. Dell plans sale of Perot Systems - report

Dell is looking to sell Perot Systems for more than USD 5 billion, unnamed sources told Re/code. Dell is trying to raise around USD 10 billion from selling non-core assets in order to reduce debt ahead of its merger with EMC. Dell acquired Perot in 2009 for USD 3.9 billion. It has already approached several international IT consultancy companies as potential buyers, according to the report, such as Tata Consultancy Services, Atos, Genpact and CGI.

Dell SecureWorks files for IPO

Dell announced plans to pursue a stock market listing for its unit SecureWorks. The company filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission for an initial public offering of its Class A common stock, and the IPO is expected to go ahead once the SEC approves the registration. The number of shares to be offered and the price range for the offering have not yet been determined. A number of institutional shareholders have asked EMC and Dell for specific actions they say will improve their confidence in the proposed USD 67 billion buyout of EMC and increase the chances they will vote in favour of it, people familiar with the demands told Re/code.
