Digium launches Switchvox mobile app for UC

Asterisk software developer Digium has extended its Switchvox UC service for small to mid-sized businesses by adding free support for Android devices. The Switchvox Mobile application now integrates Digium's Switchvox SMB communications service with Android, iPhone and BlackBerry devices. With the Switchvox Mobile app, Switchvox SMB customers can make, receive, transfer and record calls, check their call history, view and change call rules, such as routing and forwarding, change their out-of-office greeting, access the company directory and return calls via e-mail and use the Switchvox application from their Android-based tablet to perform tasks such as returning voice messages using e-mail. Switchvox's mobility with fixed mobile convergence features allow users to select up to five phones of any type, including smartphone, VoIP, digital, analog or soft phone, to converge with their Switchvox extension. These converged phones can transfer a call to any phone or number over a Wi-Fi or mobile network. Customers can also integrate these converged phones with their interactive user interface, the Switchvox Switchboard.
