Dutch pilot finds courts ready for iPad

Thursday 9 February 2012 | 11:12 CET | News
Courts in Leeuwarden and Haarlem have participated in a pilot project by publisher Sdu to access judicial documents using iPads. Two-thirds of the participants are now considering acquiring iPads or have already bought the tablets. Judges and judicial staff were followed for five months to assess their use of the devices and applications from various publishers. Access included legal databases and journals in digital format. Sdu found that the iPad adds to the work process in various ways, including keeping up on current events in industry journals. It also helps quickly research jurisprudence and preparation for cases.
