E-Plus, Nabu launch environmental-friendly mobile tariff
Monday 16 May 2011 | 10:27 CET
E-Plus and German nature protection federation Nabu have launched an environment tariff using the slogan Green, low-cost can be combined (Gruen. Guenstig. Geht doch!) according to teltarif.de. The pospaid tariff is called Nabu Umwelt tariff and offers 120 units to be used for SMSs or minutes called within Germany for EUR 9.90 per month. The minimal contract period is 24 months and minutes/SMSs used on top of the included units cost EUR 0.19 per SMS/minute. The tariff also offers a mobile data option including 500 MB at HSPA speeds after which the speeds are downgraded to GPRS level until a new month begins for EUR 8.90 per month. Accessing internet with the mobile tariff without data option costs EUR 0.29 per MB charged in 10 KB blocks. As the tariff is green, 15 percent of net bill will be passed on by E-Plus to Nabu to be donated to selected nature- and environment protection projects around Germany. At the same time, E-Plus promises to use green electricity needed for to operate its mobile network for every Nabu Umwelt tariff customer and uses DHL Go Green for transport of the starter packages, which is CO2 Neutral.
