GVT launches pay-TV service
Brazilian operator GVT has launched its hybrid pay-TV service, which combines linear broadcasts via DTH with on-demand and interactive content (IPTV). The GVT TV service includes 140 SD channels, of which 30 are in HD format. GVT offers three pay-TV packages. Customers can opt for the Super HD package with 26 channels (5 in HD format) for a monthly fee of BRL 59.90. Subscribers to GVT's Ultra HD service will receive 45 channels (9 in HD format) for BRL 89.90 per month, while Ultimate HD service users will have access to 72 pay-TV channels (14 in HD format) for BRL 129.90.

GVT to launch hybrid pay-TV service in Brazil

Brazilian operator GVT will launch a pay-TV service in 16 cities in September and the offer will be commercially available in October in all cities where the company is present. Speaking at the Futurecom 2011 event in Sao Paulo, GVT president Amos Genish said they will be the first in Brazil to offer pay-TV based on a hybrid IPTV and DTH solution.
