Hrvatski Telekom criticises Croatian Post digital TV plans

Tuesday 21 February 2012 | 10:19 CET | News
The news that the Croatian Post (Hrvatska Posta) will enter the domestic telecommunications market by offering Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) services has angered Hrvatski Telekom. The director of communications of Hrvatski Telekom, Maja Weber, told local daily 'Poslovni Dnevnik' said they expect the European Commission to warn the Croatian government against the unacceptable use of public funds, giving them to state-owned companies to compete with existing and prospective operators and investors. The Croatian Post's new DTT service is intended to compete with Hrvatski Telekom's MAXtv, as well as similar IPTV services from Iskon, Vipnet B.net, Optima Telekom, H1, Amis and Metronet.
