Huawei, Telefonica complete SDN IP, optical synergy test
Huawei has completed a joint test on software-defined networking (SDN)-based IP and optical synergy with Telefonica. Based on Huawei Routers and Optical Transport Network (OTN) and Reconfigurable Optical Add-drop Multiplexer (ROADM) optical transport platforms, Telefonica and Huawei jointly completed a series of tests on SDN based IP and optical synergy, including multi-layer restoration, multi-domain Label Switched Path (LSP) creation, online network survivability analysis etc. The new elastic SDN-based IP and Optical network architecture uses centralized controller, GMPLS User-Network Interface (UNI), IP/MPLS, PCEP (Path Computation Element Protocol) and other key technologies to realize centralized control of the multi-layer multi-domain network.
