Chipmaker Ikanos Communications has expanded its agreement with DSL software tools provider ASSIA, to enable commercial deployment of service provider networks employing the ITU-T standard, G.Vector. The result is 100 Mbps performance over traditional copper telephone lines. By working together, Ikanos and ASSIA are creating an ecosystem for service providers around the world that enables bandwidth-intensive services and streamlines 'time to revenue' on vectored networks. Ikanos' NodeScale Vectoring technology virtually eliminates the crosstalk that occurs on copper wire across an entire node, up to 384 ports. With NodeScale Vectoring, service providers can extend internet access and services such as multiple HD television streams, distance learning, video conferencing, telemedicine. ASSIA DSL Expresse enables extend the rate and reach of DSL systems and is used by telecommunication service providers to deliver broadband services. ASSIA DSL Expresse is the DSL management platform that incorporate DSM Level 2, an enhanced technology for DSL network optimisation pioneered by ASSIA, and debut DSM level 3 capacities.
