Indian court restrains Micromax from selling Bling handsets

India's Delhi High Court has restrained handset maker Micromax, from selling or advertising 'Bling' mobile phones as it acceded to a trademark violation filed by mobile phone maker Bling Telecom, reports The Economic Times. According to the order, the court restrained Micromax, including its employees, agents, representatives, or anyone acting on their behalf, from using the trademark 'Bling' or any other name confusingly similar till the next date of hearing, 8 February 2011. Micromax declined comment on the issue. Bling Telecom chairman Rajiv Khanna said the company had filed for the trademark in July 2009 and has since introduced six models under the brand name. 'We are the prior users of the trademark 'Bling' in relation to telecommunication goods,' he said.
