KPN to sharpen safety, quality measures

KPN has promised to sharpen its safety and quality measures, following the recent hacking events. The infiltration revealed the personal data of certain customers and forced the company to freeze two million email accounts as a precaution until passwords were reset. KPN said it is taking stock of the points it has to improve and the measures it has to take. CEO Eelco Blok said it was too early to make a full evaluation. The company will up investments and modernise its own IT systems. It will also make a number of implementation changes. KPN acknowledged that the maintenance of its internet IT systems has not always been optimal.
